Η επιλογή της Αθήνας, ως πρώτου σταθμού της πορείας αυτής δεν είναι τυχαία. Οι τρέχουσες πολιτικές, κοινωνικές και οικονομικές συνθήκες στην Ελλάδα ιδιαίτερα, αλλά και σε ολόκληρη την Ευρώπη, είναι ρευστές και εύθραυστες. Και ακριβώς αυτές οι συνθήκες καθιστούν αναγκαία την επαναδιαπραγμάτευση της αποστολής του πολιτισμού στο ευρωπαικό οικοδόμημα.
Έξι νέοι σολίστ, από ένα ευρύ φάσμα τεχνών και διαφορετικές κουλτούρες, ενώνουν τις δυνάμεις τους με ένα πολυπολιτισμικό οκταμελές σύνολο και ως «ένα» επιδιώκουν να καταρρίψουν τα παγιωμένα κλασικά σχήματα και τις ιεραρχήσεις, τα στεγανά και τους αποκλεισμούς.
Στην Αίθουσα Δημήτρης Μητρόπουλος θα επιχειρηθεί μια σύζευξη της μπαρόκ παράδοσης με το σύγχρονο ρεπερτόριο και την art performance, μια διαλεκτική μεταξύ συνόλου και μονάδας.

Following two successful years in Vienna, “Friday Nights with Yury Revich,” a project built on the exploration of artistic synergies as expressed in its motto, “hearing art, seeing music,” arrives in Athens, for the first of a number of concerts in Europe.
The choice of Athens, as the first stop of this tour, is no coincidence. The current political, social, and economic conditions in Greece particularly, and in Europe more broadly, are fluid and fragile. And it is precisely these conditions that render important the renegotiation of the task of culture within the European framework.
Six young soloists, from a wide variety of fields and representing different cultures and ethnicities, will combine their talent and potential with that of one eight-member orchestra.
Being “One” the artists strive to break down, if only temporarily, the existing hierarchies, barriers and exclusions that hitherto separate the arts. In an environment of crisis and reorientation, it may be seen as a contribution to the attempt to redefine concepts of collectivity and cooperation within the sphere of culture.
What will be attempted in the Mitropoulos Hall of Athens is a marriage between baroque tradition and modern repertoire, together with art performance and dance.
