**** PROGRAMME ****

1. "Parko"
37 min.
Greece/ Germany, 2017

The documentary „Parko“ deals with an occupied space which used to be a commercial parking spot and got transformed into a lively green park during the uprising of 2008 in Athens. It delivers an intense view on life during the crisis and we see the collective in a dialog about self-organisation and a city from below. We accompany their assemblies and see how they are organised, how the place got squatted and why they believe in a collective space. The film highlights one microcosm fighting against capitalism with an open space for everyone.

2. "Demian"
Director & Editor: Marc Sebastian Eils
Cinematography & Grading: Hannes Schulze

Germany/Cameroon, 2017

What happens after a deportation? How does a deported person adapt to the new, old home? Demian got stranded in Douala, Cameroon, and is surviving by selling watches in the streets. A life between German school documents, old photos and unsuccessful calls to Germany.

3. "The Chemo Darkroom"
Director: Harvey Rabbit
17 min.
Germany, 2018

Sex, pain, the unknown. 'The Chemo Darkroom' is a ritual film about recovering the sexual self after chemotherapy. A woman named Orlando embarks on a voyeuristic journey in a gay darkroom, attempting to free herself of the memory of cancer treatment and remember who she was before.

4. "Today I woke up to find out that I have no skin"
Director: Rosh Zeeba
Dur. 12:38
Germany

Quotation shreds, narrational fragments and iconic women figures from literature and film. With red coloured images, bathtub water and hypnotic texts the film fights against a corset made out of sexist cliches.

***************************************************

filmArche offers space and resources for a three-year education programme, in six areas: scriptwriting, directing, documentary film directing, camera, editing and production.

Its peculiarity is the self-determination of teaching and the self-organization of teaching. The students create the content of their curriculum and adapt it to their needs. You decide on your own initiative what your priorities are.

There are no permanent lecturers. Each course receives a budget from the second semester, from which it can invite external professionals from theory or film practice into the classroom. At the beginning, the courses are supervised by the older students who introduce new members to self-organisation.
