Αξιοποιώντας μια σωματική πρακτική που εστιάζει στην έκφραση της κίνησης στον χώρο, στον χρόνο και στη φαντασία, το εργαστήριο αυτό πραγματεύεται το θέμα της σύνθεσης και των χωρικών της διαστάσεων. Με ιδιαίτερη προσοχή στη σωματική ροή και ακρίβεια, η δουλειά που γίνεται ενθαρρύνει την ενεργητική ακρόαση με ένα σώμα σε εγρήγορση, ωθώντας προς μια κιναισθητική, ενδοστρεφή και εξωστρεφή αντίληψη του χώρου. Η γνώση του εσωτερικού και εξωτερικού φυσικού κόσμου, όπου λαμβάνουν χώρα οι πράξεις, εμβαθύνεται και ενισχύεται με μια αυξανόμενη συνειδητότητα, μέσω της εγγύτητας και της απόστασης, του σώματος και του περιβάλλοντος. Με τα στοιχεία αυτά στον πυρήνα της προσέγγισής μας, θα παρατηρήσουμε πώς ο χώρος γίνεται αντιληπτός και αναδεικνύεται σε σημαντική παρουσία στον χορό μας. Η δουλειά αντλεί τη γοητεία της από το σώμα που χορεύει και την έκφρασή του, το σύμπαν του και τις χορογραφικές του αφηγήσεις.
Το εργαστήριο απευθύνεται σε κινησιολόγους, χορευτές και περφόρμερ που ενδιαφέρονται για την αυθόρμητη / αυτοστιγμεί σύνθεση. Προϋπάρχουσα χορευτική ή κινησιολογική εμπειρία κρίνεται απαραίτητη.
Engaging with a physical practice through the articulation of movement in time, space and the imagination; this workshop handles the issue of composition and its spatial layers. Attentive towards physical flow and precision, the work will encourage a vibrant listening with a mindful body, towards our kinesthetic, introspective / outrospective sense of space. The interior / exterior physical world where actions are performed, will be acknowledged / supported with deepened awareness, through proximity and distance, body and environment. With these elements in the center of our work, we will observe how space is perceived and becomes a significant presence in our dance making. The work draws its fascination from the dancing body and its expression, universe and choreographic narratives.
The workshop is aimed for movers, dancers and performers who are interested to engage with instant composition. Movement / dance background experience is required.

Maya Matilda Carroll is an independent choreographer, performer, mentor and teacher, based in Berlin since 2004. In the past fourteen years Maya has created over 30 works from solo to extended group pieces. She has collaborated with artists and performers from diverse backgrounds; dancers, visual artists, poets, musicians, actors, opera singers, stage and light designers. Maya has been making dance independently as well as being commissioned to create pieces for state theaters, independent companies and dance academies. Her work is anchored in the meeting point between the tangible and imagined; reality and myth, drawn from and towards the limitless expression of the dancing body. Between 1997-2000 Maya danced in Muza dance company, Tel-Aviv, Israel. She collaborated with choreographer Lara Barsacq over five years (Tel-Aviv - Paris). Between 2000-2003 Maya danced in Batsheva Ensemble company, directed by Ohad Naharin. She also danced works choreographed by Anat Danieli, Sharon Eyal and Arkadi Zaides to name a few. In 2005 Maya joined Research Project with Sasha Waltz & Guests in Berlin. Maya formed The Instrument with her partner, composer / musician Roy Carroll in 2011. Since 2013 she collaborates with choreographer and director Julyen Hamilton. She joined his company Allen's Line in three pieces; Goat Ocean, Mud Like Gold and The Light from Beneath Reaches. http://www.theinstrument.org/
