Annual Theological Academy Dinner in Montreal

With great success again this year, the annual Theological Academy dinner took place at the Palace Reception Hall in Montreal, Quebec; as is well known, Mr. N. Tsatas and his associates provide the venue, food and drink without charge. The principal organizers of the dinner were Fr. D. Antonopoulos, Fr. P. Pavlakos and Ms. M. Agrapidi, the 2nd Vice President of the Philoptochos of Canada; together they collaborated closely with the Montreal-area clergy and Philoptochos chapters.

Speeches were given by Ms. Agrapidi; Mr. Chris Karidogiannis, Laval City Councillor who was representing the Mayor; Ms. Mary Deros, Deputy Mayor of Montreal; Ms. Efy Coutsougeras, President of the Philoptochos of Canada; His Excellency, George Markantonatos, Ambassador of Greece to Canada; and, Metropolitan Sotirios.

There were approximately 550 people in attendance; a sizable portion from the proceeds of the dinner will be donated to the Sainte-Justine Children’s Hospital in Montreal.

Each speaker expressed their enthusiasm for the work of our Theological Academy, our Holy Metropolis and the Philoptochos.

During his remarks, Metropolitan Sotirios referenced the work of the Theological Academy, as well as the programs and services of our Holy Metropolis.

The entire evening was truly wonderful with participants completely satisfied. The atmosphere was like a joyful spiritual feast.

We express our sincere congratulations and gratitude to all of the organizers and participants.

Next year’s dinner will take place at the same venue, courtesy of Palace Reception Hall, on the first Sunday in November.
